Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer

The Bills had won seven in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an surprising result - and display

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their combined 24 victories achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive wins, just like the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to prepare was significant

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to success

The defense is reliable and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo

Traveling to Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to go but the door is open for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each scored 40 burgers to go to 7-2 ahead of the upcoming major game between the two in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a score

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly two of the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
