Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
