The Streaming Giant Chooses Perfect Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season
The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bon Clay. This character can use their power to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a interpretation of that character reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, unlike the source material and animated series.
Escola is joined by multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, including chief Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.
Although the role is a major member of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate more adjustments to the narrative framework.
Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
